There is no doubt that Angkor Wat of Cambodia is one of the most significant archeological spots of the world. It was constructed about two thousand years ago and remained the center of the Khmer dynasty for more than five hundred years. People also call this place the “spiritual center” of Cambodia.
I am back to this place again after ten long years. I remember coming in here during my younger days with my parents. Back then it was quite like a sleepy town, where Siem Reap was the tourist hub. Coming here was not in my plan but it was my mom this time, who wanted to be here again.
Without wasting a single minute, I visited one of the popular tour operators of Cambodia, chose the perfect tour package and headed towards the “land of wonder”. In this sleepy town, the only decent bar was the one Angelina Jolie visited often during her shoot for Tomb Raider. Fortunately I was able to find out a good guesthouse without facing any problem, but finding a good hotel in the outskirts is really a challenging task in this land.
As Cambodia’s biggest attraction is Angkor Wat, our trip was all around it. We started with the biggest temple of the land.

It is one of the most stunning and biggest temples present in Cambodia. I had already visited these places, but all those memories turned gray. I was trying to recall my memories surrounding this place. Thanks to the guide, he was great and explained us minutely about every temple and its significance. He even told us the story of this temple. It was huge and stretched more than three kilometers; its outer walls were designed with beautiful and rare Khmer designs. You can also climb at the top of this temple and look out for the entire site.
Angkor Wat:
That time I retargeted that how could I even forget about such a lovely beauty. But yes thanks to my mom who forced me come, here again.
Bayon:
After Angkor, the Bayon temple was the next attraction. The temple was mostly known for the massive stone carved faces on the side of the towers. Though, the guide could not tell us actually how many faces were actually present there, but it was one of the most amazing stone sculptures I had ever seen in my entire life. Looking at these enormous structures and their Designs made me spellbound and also encouraged my urge for discovering the history again.

This two were the most beautiful and stunning monument I had ever seen in my life and also in Angkor Wat. The most amazing thing was I could realize that even after such long years my love for history and knowing past didn't end. My tour of Cambodia was a memorable one; hope other people visiting this country will also feel the same.
