“Desperate for a quick getaway” was my situation few weeks before, when my head was stuck in the busy work schedule and was craving for a quick escape. My destination for this quick escape was Vietnam. Without wasting much time, I spoke to the tour operator and fixed my trip to the Land of Blue Dragons.
I knew I had just two weeks of freedom to enjoy and thus, I tried my best to turn them into a happening and memorable journey. Time was short; along with the budget, but the group with whom I was travelling changed it all. Now I feel that without them I wouldn’t have enjoyed so much in that trip.
Old Saigon:
First stop in Vietnam was the old Saigon, which is also known as the epicenter of the countries booming culture and heritage. The unique aroma of this nation’s culture hit me as soon as I reached the city. Being the largest city in the country, it was filled with busy street and heavy traffic. But above all, it was fun to hop around the city in a moppet along with a group of travel freaks.
There are few places that we could visit just by walking like the Cathedral, war museum and my personal favorite the Ben Thanh Market. You can spend hours in this market looking in to various stall and food vendors.

Heavenly Nha Trang:
A night train from the city took us to this heavenly beach town. We reached the town early in the morning and got amazed looking at the popularity of the town. The place attracted huge number of backpackers and most of them were there to enjoy the exciting nightlife of the place. Apart from the night life, the town was also home to some of the most incredibly beautiful beaches.
The white sand, turquoise blue colored water and palm trees took our heart away. This also forced us to call the place a heaven for the people who love beaches and sea.

The fairytale town- Hoi An
To reach this place, we hand to hop on the night train again. according to me we were heading to a city that most people call as a “charming, colonial jewel” and indeed it was. People were right about the town, it seriously look something like “a fairytale town of Vietnam” that has been kept frozen in time. It is the most well preserved and picture perfect mini city of Vietnam.
Glowing lanterns still hang from the trees; locals still cycle wearing the traditional conical hat and saffron colored buildings still stay the same, lined up properly in a row. It is a city that can take you back in time and give a glimpse of days back then.

I couldn’t even feel when my two weeks were gone and the trip came to an end. My quick getaway with the small group of travel freaks and the best Vietnam travel package ended by giving me numerous memories to cherish.
